Tax Director - Latin America Region (LAR)

Our client is a leading U.S.-based consumer goods company, recognized as a reference in its market.

Reporting to the Global Finance Leadership Team, with a dotted line to the Vice President & CFO, Latin America Region, this executive role is responsible for the end-to-end tax agenda across LATAM, covering direct and indirect taxes, compliance, reporting, tax strategy, and risk mitigation across all regional business units.

We are seeking a leader with strong strategic vision and execution capability, able to operate effectively in a matrixed environment, influence senior global stakeholders, and navigate the complexity of regional tax reforms, ensuring financial predictability and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Advisory & Governance

• Act as a strategic advisor to the CFO and senior executive team, ensuring strong governance and financial predictability.
• Align tax strategy with business priorities, supporting sustainable regional growth and profitability.
• Translate complex tax legislation and tax controversy into practical, executable business decisions with clear financial impact.

Tax Operations & Compliance

• Lead direct and indirect tax compliance, including calculations, filings, reporting, and consolidations.
• Orchestrate the tax function through major transformation initiatives, with particular focus on the Brazilian Tax Reform, coordinating cross-functional transition plans.
• Oversee Transfer Pricing, M&A tax support, and Tax Accounting activities.
• Controversy & Risk Management
• Lead tax audits and controversies, acting as the primary point of contact with tax authorities.
• Identify and translate legislative changes and tax disputes into managed risks and financial opportunities.
• Leadership & People Management
• Lead a tax organization of approximately 41 professionals (3 direct reports and 38 indirect), acting as a coach, mentor, and role model.
• Design efficient structures and processes to support high-performing teams, reducing attrition and increasing engagement.
• Lead transformational change initiatives with minimal disruption to the business.
• Partner closely with Finance, Legal, and global external advisors to ensure effective execution.
• Reconcile and balance priorities across regional and global stakeholder groups.

We are seeking a professional with solid experience in large multinational companies, operating within complex, matrixed organizational structures, as well as prior exposure to a Big 4 environment. A Law degree or equivalent professional legal experience is required, combined with a consistent track record in leading large, multidisciplinary teams. This professional demonstrates proven capability in driving strategic transformation initiatives, managing significant regulatory changes, and supporting business restructuring and turnaround processes. Fluency in Spanish is essential for effective regional operations and engagement with local and global stakeholders
